Greenlight
Energy, Inc.
Founded
in 2000, Greenlight built a national portfolio of utility-scale wind
energy development projects.
In
2006, Greenlight Energy, Inc. was acquired by BP (press
release). At that time,
Greenlight was one of the largest independent wind energy companies in
the U.S. Greenlight’s development pipeline of 30 projects in
15 states exceeded 200,000 acres under lease, sufficient to support
6,000 MW of wind energy facilities. Greenlight developed $700 million
of wind facilities in Kansas and Colorado that are now in commercial
operations.
Following
the BP acquisition, members of the Greenlight Energy management team
formed Greenlight Energy Resources, Inc. to continue investing in the
renewable energy sector.
